Job Summary
The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for translating business and customer needs into clear product and system requirements. The role partners closely with Product Management, Engineering, QA, UX/UI, and business stakeholders to analyze requirements, define features and user stories, and maintain a high-quality product backlog.
The role also drives business process analysis and improvement, supports solution evaluation and UAT activities, and ensures requirements are clearly documented, understood, and aligned with business objectives and customer needs within an Agile environment.

Job Responsibilities
Business & Requirements Analysis
· Gather, analyze, and document complex business requirements from relevant stakeholders.
· Translate business needs into clear functional and system requirements.
· Break down high-level requirements into epics, features, user stories, and actionable development requirements.
· Identify business problems, process gaps, dependencies, risks, and opportunities associated with existing and proposed solutions.
· Assess the potential business impact of proposed changes and provide analysis to support decision-making.
· Ensure requirements are aligned with business objectives, customer needs, and product strategy.
Product Backlog & User Story Management
· Maintain ownership of the transactional product backlog in coordination with the Product Manager.
· Develop clear, concise, and actionable user stories that provide sufficient information for development.
· Define detailed and measurable acceptance criteria for each user story.
· Ensure backlog items meet the agreed Definition of Ready before being considered for development.
· Facilitate clarification of requirements and resolve ambiguities before and during development.
· Ensure all relevant dependencies, assumptions, business rules, and edge cases are captured within the requirements.
· Continuously review and refine backlog items based on business priorities, product feedback, and changing requirements.
Agile & Scrum Collaboration
· Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, as required.
· Work closely with Product Managers, Developers, QA, UX/UI, and other stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle.
· Provide timely clarification and support to development teams during sprint execution.
· Evaluate product and feature progress during each iteration and highlight potential risks, gaps, or deviations.
· Support effective communication and alignment between business and technical teams.
· Promote Agile practices and continuous improvement within the product development environment.
Process Analysis & Improvement
· Conduct business and system process analysis to identify inefficiencies, gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
· Document current-state and future-state processes and recommend appropriate improvements.
· Support business process re-engineering and process design initiatives.
· Analyze the impact of proposed process and system changes on customers, employees, systems, and business operations.
· Focus on improving process quality, efficiency, data management, and customer experience.
· Identify opportunities to increase product adoption and improve customer satisfaction through process and product enhancements.
Product & Solution Analysis
· Analyze proposed product and system solutions to ensure alignment with business requirements and objectives.
· Evaluate alternative solutions and identify their potential business benefits, risks, dependencies, and impacts.
· Collaborate with technical teams to ensure business requirements are appropriately translated into system solutions.
· Contribute to the definition and analysis of complex features and product initiatives.
· Support solution design by providing business context, functional requirements, process flows, and relevant documentation.
Documentation & Testing
· Prepare and maintain business and system analysis documentation, including:
o Business Requirements
o System Requirements
o Functional Requirements
o User Stories
o Acceptance Criteria
o Use Cases
o Process Flows
o Scope Matrices
o Sequence Diagrams
o Current-State and Future-State Processes
o UAT Plans and supporting documentation
· Support QA and business stakeholders in validating requirements and expected system behavior.
· Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities and support the resolution of identified gaps.
· Ensure documentation remains accurate and aligned with approved product and system changes.
Job Requirements
Educational Qualification
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
· A relevant postgraduate degree or professional qualification is an advantage.
Licenses & Certifications
· Agile, Scrum, or Business Analysis certification is preferred.
· Certifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO), PMI-PBA, or IIBA certifications are considered an advantage.
Previous Work Experience
· 6+ years of professional experience, including at least 3 years in Business Analysis or a similar role.
· Proven experience in Agile product development, requirements analysis, and product backlog management.
· Experience in business process analysis, documentation, and re-engineering.
· Experience within fintech, financial services, insurance, or banking is preferred; fintech startup experience is a strong advantage.
Skills and Abilities

· Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum and SDLC.
· Excellent requirements gathering, user story writing, and process modeling skills.
· Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio.
